Revlon Photoready Prime + Anti-Shine Review

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Mink Review

First off, the sh*t-kickers. I get that they are ‘so 2011’ and I am extremely outdated by writing a post featuring these, but humor me. I have recently dug these out of the back of the closet, covered in dust (which I have yet to clean properly, those spikes are a god-awful nightmare to clean around) and an old flame has been re-kindled. I can’t tell you who they are by (the branding has worn away) or where they are from; don’t get it twisted they aren’t UNIF Hellraisers or Christian Louboutin Rollerboys. They likely hail from eBay. The love for them is strong in me. They are incredibly comfortable and I feel like a bit of a badass in them I must admit. Wearing these with a white tee and ripped blue jeans makes my world a happy place.

I have been trying out Revlon’s Photoready Prime + Anti-shine balm recently and it’s turned out to be the perfect weapon in the anti-midday-shine arson. It’s a multitask-er; you can use it as a primer under makeup, on its own as a skin perfector or to mattify your makeup after application. I love this thing to throw in my bag as I am a sufferer of the curse that is the oily t-zone and this product works really well to combat that stunning greasy shine.

Because I am so one to keep up with the trends - just call me Cher Horowitz – I’m sharing another 90’s-esque brown/nude lip colour. Kylie Jenner has plagued my mind man… This is Revlon’s Super Lustrous Crème Lipstick in ‘Mink’ and it’s a perfect everyday nude.  It is very similar in colour to Mac Velvet Teddy but not similar in finish, so not a dupe; Velvet Teddy is far more matte with slightly better colour payoff. But I’ve found this to be the bullet I’m grabbing for on a daily basis, for a work day, as its nice light and comfortable. Lastly, I’ve been wearing Manuka Doctor ApiRefine Lip Enhancer a lot recently. It’s a nice, gentle lip plumping product that is super moisturising. I have dreams of full, plump lips that I was not blessed with; so products like this are a staple. I really like Manuka Dr’s offering as it’s not as ‘stingy’ as some products but the results are really great.

What have you been loving lately?

PS. By the way; this whole drama, with Kanye West headlining Glastonbury this year and upsetting the rock festival traditionalists, has me in giggles. I have no real feelings on the matter - I'm not going to Glastonbury. I do however find the reactions hi-larious and a list put together by The Poke, of acts people have said they would prefer to see headline Glastonbury (according to a Twitter search of #betterthankanye), has tickled my giggle dick. My favorites being;

  • A Cardboard Cutout of Beyonce.
  • Noel Gallagher's Saggy Face.
  • Your Mum.
  • Holograms of One Direction being beaten with sticks.

So many LOLZ.
