Monthly Favourites - February 2015.

I really like February. Partly because it’s my birthday month – okay mainly because it’s my birthday month. I like birthdays. And partly because I was a smug child in school having learnt how to spell F-E-B-R-U-A-R-Y before my other classmates – due to having a birthday bond with the month. And let’s admit it; it’s a tricky word for a 6 year old – that sneaky little ‘R’ man…

I liked some things this month – and as is customary for a #bblogger to do – I gonna share.

First of all we must talk about chocolate. Chocolate is my cocaine. I cannot cut the habit. Sadly, there is no such thing as Cadbury Rehab (as far as I’m aware of. Gap in the market maybe?) To be honest, even if there was a chocolate rehab centre, I wouldn’t go. Unless I was kicking and screaming; because I just love it. Crème Egg season is here! And as such I have been eating my body weight in them – can you blame me, there’s only 32 days left of the season.

Secondly, to a nail colour I have been adoring this month – Revlon Parfumerie in China Flower. Look at that bottle; could you just die?  The colour is a super bright, poppy red with a slight orange tint and is opaque after 2 coats. I feel so happy when I wear this polish, the smell is divine fresh and floral. I’ve never told people to ‘smell my finger’ more.

Benefit’s Roller Lash – you’re probably sick of the sight of this right? No? Me either. It’s just so pretty. I really like this mascara. I’ve heard some people saying they haven’t got on with it and it’s not fulfilled the curly promise for them – but my lashes like it. It’s been the mascara I’ve been grabbing daily as its very eye opening and lash lengthening. Me and a Benefit girl had a bonding moment the other day when we both admitted to each other, out loud, that we prefer this over ‘They’re Real’ – it was a lovely moment.

I’ve been burning incense a lot this month, candles are all well and good but you just don’t get that instant hit of fragrance that you get from incense. I used to burn these all the time as a teenager, with my mother frantically stubbing them out if I left the room for 2 minutes – mum likes fire safety. So I picked up 3 packs from the local ‘hippy’ shop the other week; Tibetan Incense, Musk and Cannabis (it’s not like that. Hugs not drugs). Now our house smells beautiful and they’ve masked the smell of puppy shit.

Lastly, my favourite buy of the month; my Kiehls Musk. I am obsessed with this fragrance. I tried it on in Selfridges but at first thought it was too masculine (it is unisex) for me to pull off, so I left it. But it settled on my skin and became more subtle and ‘unisexual’ throughout the day and I adored the smell that it developed in to, so I had to go back and get a bottle. It’s not feminine - but don’t you think there’s something sexy about wearing a more masculine scent? It’s like wearing a man’s shirt. Plus, Norman Reedus wears this fragrance so instant winner in my eyes.

What have you been loving this month?
