REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask, Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Cleanser, Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Exfoliant Pads, Alpha-H Liquid Gold Review

Excuse the title. Hugs not Drugs.

I am on the anti-drug side of things, I rarely take Paracetamol . If you wanted any reason to not take substances – Google ‘thing’s rock stars have done on drugs’. These include Ozzy snorting a line of ants, Iggy Pop starting a fight with Detroit motorbike gang ‘The Scorpions’ (in no way is this ever a good idea), Keith Richards inhaling some of his recently cremated Dad and the infamous Led Zeppelin and Vanilla Fudge ‘mudshark incident’ which we will not go into here.

I’m glad the only thing I’m addicted to is Krispy Kreme Donuts.

I am talking about acid in products today. This is the kind of thing that would have been a baffling thought to me a few years ago - "Acid? On my face? You mad?" – but no, this is a thing. In fact, it’s a great thing. So it turns out we CAN use acid in our skin care, at home, without the ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark face melting scene’ (aforementioned in a previous post of mine) becoming a reality. I have a selection of products here to mention that all contain acidic ingredients. The first being the most recent addition of the bunch, REN’s Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask. This mask contains 5-6.5% Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acids, it’s a chemical exfoliant and its purpose is to clear away dead skin cells and weekly grime and leave the skin looking glowing and renewed (duh). It’s a great mask to use before an event or a date as it’ll give you a gorgeous bright glow after use, it only needs 10 minutes to work its magic before being buffed off with a muslin cloth.

Next up, 2 products from Kylie Jenner’s new employer - Nip+Fab. I was curious to try their Glycolic Fix range so I got the Exfoliant Pad’s I’ve heard raved about and the cleanser. The pads are awesome, so easy to use and gentle – I think there is around 2% Glycolic Acid in each pad. Same with the cleanser; super gentle, super effective. My skin feels so clean after using these products together. Lastly, my favourite – Alpha-H Liquid Gold. This stuff is ma jam and is, in every way, deserving of its name. It is an overnight treatment; wipe on with a cotton pad on its own or apply regular moisturizer after application. It’s been dubbed as an overnight facial with benefits including; accelerating skins repair and renewal process, reducing the appearance of acne scars, fine lines, dark spots and brown patches and helping induce synthesis of collagen. Phew. This stuff is my HG and although I have – temporarily – retired my current bottle (due to purchasing REN and Nip+Fab, overloading my face with Glycolic Acid would not be good…) I will forever and ever (BFFs 4eva) repurchase this.

Overall, these all serve the same purpose; skin resurfacing and all are great products. Just don’t you be forgetting that SPF – your skin will need the sun protection after an acid peel.

And remember kids; if you’re going to share Coke, make sure it’s Diet.
